According to the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare, 1 in 5 Australians aged 16 – 85 years, or 4.3 million people, have experienced a mental disorder in the past 12 months. 17% of Australians experienced an anxiety disorder and 1 in 7 children and adolescents aged 4 – 17 years experienced a mental illness.

There are a plethora of reasons that contribute to mental health disorders across age groups: family circumstances, housing, employment, income, social media, drug use, peer pressure, bullying to name a few.
