The Australian Government has released a National Immunisation Strategy for Australia for the next 5 years.
Its mission is to reduce the impact of vaccine-preventable diseases through high uptake of safe, effective and equitable immunisation across a person’s lifespan.
The strategy has 6 priority areas. A key priority is to make it easier for people to access vaccines, with a focus on priority populations, such as:
• infants and children
• pregnant women
• older people
• people with disability
• Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
The strategy also focusses on building community trust, understanding and acceptance by the community of the importance of immunisation.
Stirling Central Health Clinic aims to provide its patients with accessible vaccinations whether that be for your flu, COVID, shingles protection or travel needs to name a few.
