Expired Stock Helping Kangaroo Island Wildlife Affected by Bushfires
In early January, staff at our Practice commenced the annual stocktake of clinical supplies and found that some bandages, syringes, plasters and medications had expired. As a result of the expired date, this stock cannot be used within the Practice. Our very innovative staff at Reception discovered through Facebook that Minton Farm Native Animal Rescue Centre at Cherry Gardens was seeking donations of stock for the injured wildlife affected by fires on Kangaroo Island.
Laura (Reception) sorted the expired stock and packed it into 3 plastic tubs. Our Office Manager dropped the tubs at Minton Farm Native Animal Rescue Centre on his way home. On that day, volunteers from the Farm were busy collating all donations and were on standby to deliver to Kangaroo Island, a total of eight pallets of stock that had been donated from a variety of sources the very next day. Our staff are delighted that our expired stock could contribute to assisting the bushfire affected animals on Kangaroo Island. A great team effort!
