Royal Australian College of General Practice Accreditation (RACGP)

Over the next few months, our Practice will be preparing to be accredited by the RACGP. Practice accreditation is independent recognition that our practice meets the requirements of governing industry standards. This process occurs every three years.

The Practice will be assessed by a Doctor and Practice Manager from the Australian General Practice Accreditation Limited (AGPAL) via a set of standards. This will be occurring on January 29th 2020 but will not affect the daily running of the Practice.

According to AGPAL, Accreditation across the primary care sector has been developed as a means of patient protection, harm minimalisation and risk management. It also ensures general practitioners and their teams, are working in a safe and quality-focused environment to deliver optimal care.

Obtaining accreditation provides our Practice and our patients with acknowledgment that we have reached a high standard of safety and quality, while demonstrating a commitment to sustainable and effective quality improvement processes and initiatives.
